One of my favorite outdoor winter activities is snowshoeing. Here’s one of our trails right after getting 2.5 feet of snow before Christmas:

Ice Storm

I’d rather it be more good snowshoeing snow, but this time we got more of an icy, slushy mess of a storm, which bows the tree branches down and causes power outages…there’s winter in New England for you! Welcome to 2021!

But it does look pretty on the trees!

Dead Tree

There are so many interesting things you can come across when walking in the fields and woods…like this dead tree that almost looks like some weird monster coming out of the trees:

Snowy Field

This is what the field behind our house looked like a week ago when my mom and I went snowshoeing:

And this is what it looks like after the Christmas rain storm we got:

What a difference a week makes! I know we shall get more snow soon, but it was nice to see the bare ground again:)

Storm Damage

We went for a walk up a nearby dirt road after the Christmas deluge, and saw this storm damage, looks like the water was coming pretty fast down the hill!
