Moon

The other day there was a half moon shining in the sky, first before sunset:

And here it is later on, with some stars, and maybe even a planet (Mars?) :

Christmas Deluge

It rained most of the day yesterday on Christmas, washing away much of the snow. Seems rather fitting for the year 2020!

Holly

My mom and I were walking around the block the other day, and we came across this holly bush, which adds a nice pop of color this time of year during the Christmas season:)

Merry Christmas!

Trash Decorations

While walking along the edge of a nearby field, I saw these old Christmas lights tangled up in an old fence that someone had thrown away…it adds some Christmas cheer to the otherwise bleak-looking landscape. This was, of course, before we got 2.5 feet of snow!

Balancing Each Other

Birdfeeders are not only for the birds! These 2 red squirrels also like to come eat the sunflower seeds. A nice display of teamwork as they help each other balance on the feeder:

Upside Down Squirrel

The squirrels try all sorts of positions to get to the birdfeeders, such as this one that is hanging from its rear legs upside down on the tree, while stuffing its mouth with the seeds:

Window Through the Woods

When I look out my window near the computer, I see a window through the trees, it is sometimes more obvious and sometimes more hidden:

Purple Finches

This time of year is perfect for bird watching right out the window! We see a variety of different birds through out the year, like these purple finches:

Country Road-Before and After Snow

Here is a photo of a dirt road leading to a field the day before we got a Nor’Easter:

And here it was yesterday, when we got slammed with about 2.5 feet of snow:

What a difference one day makes!!
